QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT RAPID ALLOY IDENTIFICATION KITS

Question: How do these kits work?
Answer: All of our kits use the electro-deposit method to dissolve a minute amount of metal sample onto moistened filter paper. One or two drops are added to the filter paper to develop a distinct color which identifies the metal. From start to finish it takes only one or two minutes to complete a test.

Question: Will I need any other materials or equipment to run these tests?
Answer: No, these kits are portable and come with all items required for alloy testing.

Question: Who can run these tests?
Answer: Our simple step by step instructions are written to allow the average shop personnel to perform alloy identifications accurately and with confidence.

Question: How many tests can I run?
Answer: Each bottle holds over 600 drops. Most tests use two or three different bottles to obtain results, allowing thousands of tests to be run per kit.

Question: Can I buy individual spare bottles?
Answer: We supply individual bottles, filter paper, and any other apparatus including instruction books for any of our products, past or present. (You can purchase spare solution sets at a savings of over 30% from the purchase of individual bottles.)

Question: Can I test a very large item such as a tank? How small a part can I test?
Answer: The electro-deposit method works on very large items as well as parts as small as 1/16 inch dia. Items smaller than 1/16th inch can also be tested; contact factory for special techniques.

Question: Do you have MSDS forms for your Alloy Detector product line?
Answer: We supply MSDS for all complete kits and solution sets. We will also supply MSDS on request from past customers.
